About Terezia
Terezia Zorić is UTFA’s President, currently serving a July 1, 2022-June 30, 2024 term. She has led or co-led UTFA’s Salary, Benefits, Pensions, and Workload negotiations for the past five years. Prior to that she served as UTFA’s Vice-President, Grievances, for three years, and also chaired UTFA’s Equity and Teaching Stream committees.
Terezia is an Associate Professor, Teaching Stream, in OISE’s Department of Social Justice Education. She has been a faculty member at the University of Toronto since 2004 when she was first hired into the Department of Theory and Policy Studies (later renamed Leadership, Higher, and Adult Education). Her teaching focuses on anti-discrimination education and education for environmental sustainability.
The current focus of Professor Zorić’s research and scholarship is the changing nature of academic work and workloads. She is a co-investigator of an SSHRC-funded study titled “Differential Impacts of Transition to Remote Academic Labour at Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Universities During the COVID-19 Pandemic” in partnership with the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA).
